OUR RESPONSE TO COVID-19

Our number one priority during this public health crisis is maintining the safety and good health of our students, families, our staff, and our community. We are committed to providing a safe, healthy, and happy environment, where our students can continue to receive the highest quality education and care. In response to this health emergency we have put stringent measures in place to minimize the risks around COVID-19, and we continue to follow CDC (Center for Disease Control) and local government  recommendations  to ensure the safety of your children while at the Academy.

What is COVID-19?

COVID-19 is a respiratory illness caused by a newly discovered coronavirus. The virus is spread from person to person through close contact, droplets from coughs or sneezes, and contact with surfaces infected by these droplets after touching one’s face or mouth. 

What are the symptoms COVID-19?

People with COVID-19 have had a wide range of symptoms reported – ranging from mild symptoms to severe illness. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. People with these symptoms may have COVID-19:

  • Fever or chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea

What safety measures and strategies have been put implemented to protect my child while attending the Academy?

TO ENTER EVERYONE MUST HAVE THERE TEMPERATURE CHECKED. YOU MY NOT ENTER THE BUILDING IF YOU OR YOUR CHILD , HAS A COUGH OR FEVER. 

MASK MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES. BY ORDER OF THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NEVADA. 

Rainbow Dreams Janitorial Staff is working delinquently to assure our school is being cleaned in accordance with the current County Health Guidelines during the Pandemic we are facing. 

The Cleaning/Disinfecting Protocol includes:

 

Primary Cleaning Protocol

  • Cleaning and disinfecting all classrooms, Cafeteria, Offices , Bathrooms and ALL Common Areas.
  • Disinfect ALL Desk and Chairs Daily
  • Disinfect ALL Touch Points
  • Damp Mopping Floors
  • Stocking and Refilling Soap and Paper products.
  • Empty Trash

 Secondary Cleaning

  • Dusting
  • Hard Floor Care
  • Exterior Deep Cleaning Services

 

Staff Health and Safety

  • All on-site Staff have been asked to stay home if they feel ill
  • Staff had access to hand sanitizer and hand washing with soap in classroom
  • Staff has been notified in writing of these protocols

 

WE ARE ASKING ALL PARENTS AND ANY AUTHORIZED VISITORS TO PLEASE ADHERE TO THE SOCIAL DISTANCING PROTOCOLS AS OUTLINED BELOW: 

  • Please Practice Social Distancing 
  • Protect yourself and others against infections
What happens if my child begins showing symptoms of COVID-19 at home or in school?

We will carefully observe all Academy students on a daily basis. Any child demonstrating cold and flu like symptoms will be separated from the other children while a member of our health staff contacts a parent or guardian to pick up the child and take them home. Medical clearance will be required before returning your child to the Academy.

We do ask that if your child begins showing COVID-19 symptoms at home, that you keep them at home and seek immediate medical attention. Be certain to contact the Academy office to advise of the absentee and update us on the doctor’s recommendations for medical clearance to return.

What happens if a teacher or staff member begins showing symptoms of COVID-19?

Any teacher or staff member who begins displaying symptoms of COVID-19 while at home will asked to remain at home until they have received medical clearance from a doctor. If a staff member begins to display signs of COVID-19 while at the Academy, they will immediately be sent home and cannot return until they have received medical clearance.

Will I be contacted if someone at the Academy tests positive for COVID-19?

Yes, parents and guardians will be contacted directly in the event that there has been a positive COVID-19 test at the Academy. We will comply with all official Government and Health Department advisements and procedures following a positive testing at our facility.
