EDUCATION

Our primary mission at Rainbow Dreams Academy Charter School is to prepare each of our students to accept the challenges that lie ahead with eager anticipation and the utmost confidence.

Rainbow Dreams Academy serves students in grades K-8. Since our official opening, one grade level has been added each year. We currently serve students from K-8 with full day kindergarten offered at no cost. In the near future we are looking forward to offering a pre-k program for parents in order to prepare their young children for a successful transition into the Rainbow Dreams Academy Charter School culture. (Learn more)
Rainbow Dreams Academy (RDA) is an elementary charter school that will use the Clark County School District K-8 Common Core State Standards as it guide for curriculum development. This will ensure the instructional program’s alignment to Nevada Academic Content Standards and enable all students to progress by grade level according to the Nevada academic expectancies.
Rainbow Dreams Academy will offers a culturally relevant curriculum and instructional program that will integrate english language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, reading, computer technology, fine and performing arts and spanish with an infusion of African American history and multicultural education.
Rainbow Dreams Academy understands the importance of academic standards, expectancies, and accountability. We will use data from standardized test scores and other required assessments to both measure and guide our instructional program as well as develop individualized student learning.
Rainbow Dreams Academy is a Nevada state approved, K-6, public charter school. All students have an equal opportunity to attend RDA; the school does not discriminate in its enrollment based upon the race, gender, religion, ethnicity, or disability of a pupil.

RDA’s charter is dedicated to providing educational opportunities to students who are at risk. In order to serve this population, our application for admissions and determination of enrollment, are governed by NRS 386.580 and Senate Bill 391. (Copies of each are available in the school office upon request.)

The following is our enrollment criteria:

  • Applicants economically disadvantaged with a sibling attending Rainbow Dreams Academy during the school year and living within a two mile radius of Rainbow Dreams Academy.

Are your students up to date?Kids won't want to hear this - but the start of a new school year is less than a month away. The Southern Nevada Health District is urging people to beat the #backtoschool rush by bringing kids in for vaccinations as early as possible. The first day of school for students in the Clark County School District is August 13. For information, contact the Health District’s immunization clinic, (702) 759-0850 or visit bit.ly/2O2nfYr.

Parents getting vaccinations for children at a Health District clinic should bring immunization records. Parents who cannot locate their children’s immunization records should contact their health care provider. The Health District accepts most insurance plans but not all immunizations are covered by insurance. Contact the Health District’s immunization clinic for information and current fee schedule.

The Health District is offering back-to-school immunizations at its following locations:

• Main Public Health Center, 280 S. Decatur Blvd. Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.– 4:30 p.m.
• East Las Vegas Public Health Center, 560 N. Nellis Blvd., Suite E12. Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Rainbow Dreams Academy would like to extend Congratulations to our first ever Community Organization of the Year, the 100 Black Men Of Las Vegas, Inc. on being named "Small Chapter of the Year" for the National Organization of the 100 Black Men of America!Incredible two days for our mentees and our chapter. I had the honor of accepting the 100 Black Men of America's "Small Chapter of the Year" award with mentees and members!
Our mentees met our national leadership, Civil Rights Icon Rev. Dr. C.T. Vivian and one mentee even got a picture with Emanuel "Webster" Lewis when we were in the elevator! Too much to cover on FB but we are honored to receive this incredible award and our mentees are having a great time! Many thanks to our members, our mentees and their families, our sponsors and community partners! This award is shared with each and every one of you!
